Devoted to Love, Beauty, and Possibilties

Anne Marie Vivienne

I love not only being alive, but Coming Alive. My life has always been full of rituals and curiosity about the Mysteries of existence. Since I was a kid, I’ve had all kinds of spiritual and devotional practices and have always preferred to be with people who surprise me with new ideas or make me laugh when I’m least expecting it. Truth is, it doesn’t take much to surprise me or delight me.

My preferred place is somewhere, anywhere, outside where I can listen and learn from the rhythms of the land, the sea, and the wind that entangles branches and caresses my skin. I’ve always been a romantic, and romance, for me, is rooted in my desire to be fully present as a human on this planet. I see my body as a gift, a specially refined instrument to experience the world and learn how to lead with the heart and listen to the soul.

I believe in the power of ceremony and ritual because they are both part of my daily attunement, and have been for as long as I can remember. I grew up in a very religious family and community where women were not allowed to do anything in the realm of officiating, healing, leading, or blessing. I had a deep longing to bring people together in healing and celebration. Over the years I have read books about every religion and spiritual practice I could find, books from the scientific world about how the body and mind function (and dysfunction), and began to find other rituals outside my religion of origin that began to open me to more beautiful possibilities.

I became a certified yoga instructor in 2005 and have taught at studios, the University of Utah, and in private homes and studios. I found a ritual practice in the rhythm of poetry when I went to graduate school through Middlebury College where I was able to study at Oxford University. Poetry became a daily ritual for me. I have been refining my own unique tea meditation ceremony that I offer to my Write to Come Alive writing groups, and am apprenticed in a Celtic Shamanic Practice.

I have had many careers, many of which have included event and gathering coordination for groups of 5 to 200. I am passionate about The Art of Gathering, and it is my calling to make sure that every person and creature who cross over the threshold to an event I am organizing feels safe, at home, and open to experience something transformational.

And most of all, I love Love. For me, we are here to grow together as interdependent beings. We can best learn how to love ourselves and others only in relationships. Learning how to define our own needs and wants in a dance with someone else’s needs and wants is the greatest journey of all. In relationship, we resonate in harmony and find the coherence we all deeply long for.

I hope to have the honor of creating a wedding ceremony that plants seeds of transformation, harmony, vitality, and creativity.
